May the selflessness, courage and happiness be infectious to all that read the following letter. Rest in peace my dear friend.. Rest in peace.[/UPDATE]I've known you for a very long time now. We've grown together, cried together, laughed together, succeeded together and failed together. With the recent news that your life is being cut short due to cancer at the young age of 27, I can't help but be incredibly sad for my own selfishness. I know you are going to a better place.. That being known, it's still hard to neglect the fact I won't be seeing you anymore in this life. I wish I could not only tell the world, but rather.. show them the experiences we've had together. I wish only for a moment, that others can truly see how genuine and unselfish you've always been. There's not been a time; month, week, day or hour that you haven't been there for me when I most and least needed it. If there is one person truly deserving the Gates of Heaven.. it is none other than yourself! I wish to tell the world my last talk with you at your "living wake" this Saturday. I would tell them verbatim, our bit of conversation truly reflects your amazing nature. The following is what I would reveal about our last conversation:ME: So.... [pause]...What do you think?(Referring to the notice of a short life)YOU:Well, I don't know... [pause].. I guess I'm glad to help someone else out...[pause].. When I found out, I asked if I could donate my blood for research because there was only 2 or 3 known cases of.. [the cancer] that I have you know? At least maybe I can help someone else..I couldn't help, but cry Michelle... I'm glad I got the chance to cry on your shoulder once more. I'm glad I got the chance to tell you "I love you!". You've been more than a friend to me and I promise to make every promise you asked of me. I will miss you more than I can ever say. When you leave this life, I know that you left happy. You found true love with your husband. You've found many faithful friends such as myself. And you have the most loving family a person could ask for. In closing, please let me play a final song for you.. This is very recent, but seems to describe well the situation..
